University of Buraimi (UoB) – Oman, is a young dynamic and emerging institution dedicated to developing student skills and career development through global educational system. In building this dynamic university, the University invites suitably qualified candidates (priority for Omani) to apply for the following:

Position: Admission and Registration Director

The director shall undertake the following:
*Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To propose the appointment of his/her assistants
  • To oversee progress of work and propose measures that are deemed necessary for the development of the department
  • To propose the internal regulations of admission and registration
  • To oversee the implementation of the academic regulations pertaining to admissions and registration
  • To propose the annual academic calendar with all important dates for admission and registrations, add and drop, withdrawal, examinations, etc
  • To express views on the plans formulated by the colleges
  • Monitors students’ progress toward the fulfillment of graduation requirements
  • To prepare and analyses of data pertaining to academic matters
  • To provide analytical reports for monitoring and managing trends such as student completion rates, enrollment rates, and attrition rates
  • To oversee the up keeping of student records and their confidentiality
  • To communicate with students in a professional manner
  • To submit to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs the minutes of the meetings of the administrative committee within one week from their approval
  • To prepare the annual report on the activities of the department and submit it to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic affairs
  • Any other duties assigned by the deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Vice Chancellor

*General Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or a Master degree preferable in Educational Leadership, Business Administration or related discipline
  • The ability to speak and write fluently in English and Arabic
  • Has ability to inspire, lead and implement innovation and change.
  • Ten-year professional experience in a similar role within higher education
  • A depth knowledge of education system in the GCC
  • Ability to maintain effective working relations with the internal and external community in a multicultural, multi ethic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Result-oriented and has the determination to complete tasks within the required time and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiating skills, and ability to resolve complex and /or sensitive issues in consultation with the dean of student affairs
  • Excellent leadership, oral interpersonal communication, team building and resource development skills
  • Demonstrate the use of problem solving techniques, and applying judgment to problems
  • Excellent supervisory and management skills
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts in business friendly and user friendly language
  • Full commitment in providing adequate customer service through innovative approaches and the ability to respond to the needs of faculty and staff
  • Sensitive to GCC culture
  • Experience writing and presenting reports, briefing materials and presentations for range of audiences including senior management.
