The University Advancement Division seeks an assistant director to join the Tufts Annual Giving Team (TAG) as a leadership annual fund gift officer. TAG is responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising program, with an emphasis on leadership annual fund giving, class-based reunion fundraising, and volunteer-driven fundraising to drive up donor counts. The assistant director is a key member of the frontline fundraising team within TAG and is responsible for raising a portion of the annual goal for arts, sciences and engineering fundraising priorities. This position will travel within and outside of New England to qualify, solicit, and cultivate a portfolio of alumni and parent prospects. The assistant director will participate in prospect review meetings and work closely with colleagues in major gifts to coordinate Packard Society solicitations of $1,000 -$50,000+ for leadership annual giving prospects. There will be an emphasis on reunion-based fundraising and working with reunion classes, with the potential to serve as a volunteer manager of a reunion committee. There is also an opportunity to be involved in a new initiative to develop and test effective Digital Gift Officer best practices.
BA/BS and 3-5 years knowledge and experience in philanthropy or relevant field.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Excellent writing and communications skills.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, particularly Word and Excel and database.
Experience in a fundraising function is highly desirable as is experience with Advance or similar donor and alumni relations information management systems.
Must be responsive and service oriented to internal (Faculty, Administrators, Staff, etc.) as well as external constituents (alumni, donors, etc.).
Special Work Schedule Requirements
Periodic evening and weekend work will be required as well as domestic travel
