Position Summary
UB Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships (BEP) is seeking a Senior Manager, Program Administration to manage the START-UP NY program at UB. This initiative gives companies the opportunity to operate state tax-free on, or near, a UB campus. In addition to tax benefits, the START-UP NY program under UB sponsorship allows companies to align their businesses with university resources and facilities, access to UB students, faculty and alumni, connect with a vast support network and more. As BEP grows, future programs may be added to this portfolio.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a reliable and detail-oriented professional, with the ability to multi-task, and prioritize duties. You will be part of a team that helps support startups and companies grow and promote collaboration in an inclusive and racially equitable environment. On the job training will be provided.

Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include

Managing the Startup NY Program: UB’s Startup NY program is amongst the most active in the state. The Senior Manager, Program Administration will be responsible for ensuring that all companies comply with the demands of the Startup NY program as directed by Empire State Development. They will be responsible for the continued success and growth of the Startup NY program. They will also measure, track, and report on progress of the program and streamline processes.
Campus Plan Amendments: Manage and execute the Campus Plan Amendment process as needed to ensure that UB’s Startup NY program stays in compliance with the state’s guidelines. This is a detail-oriented administration-heavy task that is essential to the growth of the Startup NY program at UB.
Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain good relationships with the relevant parties at Empire State Development, University at Buffalo, and local government offices to ensure smooth administration of the program. Engage with the companies participating in Startup NY to ensure they remain in compliance with the demands of the program.
Business Development:Bring new companies into the Startup NY program through referrals, marketing, and direct engagement with source programs, like 43 North.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an associated field and a minimum of 3 years related experience
Coordination of activity with a wide variety of other administrative units/departments and external agencies requiring strong interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable using various forms of communication such as phone, in-person, video conferencing and email
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with University systems and policies.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM.
