The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
(VPSA&EM) reports to the University president and is a senior executive level position responsible for leading the University's Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division, overseeing enrollment growth and retention, and managing the auxiliary enterprises including residential life and its food services contract. The VPSA&EM will work with the president's senior executive team, other key management members, and external stakeholders to help define, develop, communicate, and implement the University's mission, long-term goals and strategic plan. In addition, the VPSA&EM serves as a liaison to the Texas Tech University System's strategic planning group for recruitment and retention issues.

DUTIES
1. Provides leadership for an integrated program of student engagement and success services that lead to student success as measured by high retention and graduation rates.
2. Oversees the development and successful completion of strategic and operational plans within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
3. Is responsible for ensuring effectiveness and achievement of University goals in the areas of growth and retention.
4. Evaluates operations, staff, programs, services, and activities to ensure all areas within the Division are efficient and effective in meeting University processes, procedures, achieving stated goals and objectives, and providing student support services.
5. Directs and oversees regulatory and ad hoc reporting to various system, state, and national agencies and organizations.
6. Works with the president and the University's senior level executive team in prioritizing initiatives in accordance with the University's strategic plan.
7. Directs and coordinates the development and maintenance of policies concerning Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven track record of developing, coordinating and implementing student affairs and enrollment management programs.
Knowledge of student development theory and programs and the ability to integrate those into coherent programs of student success and retention to graduation.
Knowledge and an understanding of the current trends and issues in enrollment management, student affairs, student development, student support services, and student retention.
Skills and abilities in the following areas: persuasion and negotiation, interpersonal relations, confidentiality, excellent oral and written communication abilities, ability to handle multiple assignments at any given time, ability to respond in a helpful and sensitive manner to questions and concerns of internal and external constituencies, ability to work with various and diverse constituents at all levels of the University as well as external, ability to work with culturally diverse populations, and ability to accomplish goals within a time frame and within budget.
Qualifications
Minimum: Terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution and at least five years of progressively more responsible duties and senior management positions in the areas of student affairs and enrollment management.
