Friends University has reopened its search for Dean of its College of Business, Arts, Sciences and Education (CBASE). Nominations and applications are invited.
Friends University, founded in 1898, is a comprehensive, independent university, located near downtown Wichita and is the largest independent institution of higher learning in Kansas. The University currently enrolls over 2,800 students and has been named as one of the Best 150 Colleges in the Midwest by The Princeton Review. Though formal control has been vested in an independent board of trustees since the 1930s, the University’s Quaker/Christian heritage continues to shape its identity, ethos and values. The University is a member of the Higher Learning Commission’s AQIP program, an approach to accreditation built upon a continuous improvement model.
CBASE is one of the University’s three constituent colleges: the College of Business, Arts, Sciences and Education (CBASE), the College of Adult and Professional Studies and the Graduate School. CBASE is focused primarily on serving traditional undergraduates and encompasses the following academic divisions: Business and Information Technology, Education, Fine Arts, Natural Science and Mathematics, Religion and Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences. The College currently enrolls approximately 1,000 students.
The CBASE Dean is the Chief Academic Officer of the College and reports directly to the Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Dr. John Yoder. He and the Friends University community seek a dynamic, people-oriented leader to implement current CBASE initiatives and help move the College to its next level of distinction.
The successful candidate will embrace collaboration and open communication and enthusiastically support the mission of the University. He or she will also possess an earned doctorate and will have prior experience with accreditation, outcomes assessment and program review.
For best consideration, applications should be submitted by September 30, 2009.
