We are looking for a Director, Data Analytics, Integrations and Architecture to join the Technology Department
at Simmons University. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director is primarily responsible for
facilitating and driving the alignment of strategy between Information Technology (IT) and the business units it
supports. Responsible for the design, development and delivery of data management, system integration and
analytical solutions for the University.
The incumbent ensures reliability and integrity of University information systems through development of
policies and procedures, and by managing and mentoring staff. Works with the CIO on strategic initiatives and
Manage, hire, develop, and motivate IT professionals to achieve outcomes that support the University's overall strategic mission;
Collaborate and consult with our business leaders to assess needs and systems requirements
Lead and manage the daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines;
Develop policies and procedures necessary to carry out data and systems operations;
Recommend solutions to processes, technology and data that improves operational effectiveness for the business; oversee prototype environments that support process improvement;
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Simmons's ERP systems;
Responsible for ensuring compliance with architecture principles, policies, procedures, standards and patterns;
Manage vendor relationships by influencing roadmaps, direction of products and presenting technical requirements; manage issue resolution for quality and functionality;
Stay abreast of advances in technology;
Ensure incidents and services requests are handled in a timely manner and in accordance with SLAs and Simmons's ITSM policy.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience;
A minimum of five years' experience in application management and administration, configuration management, automation and scripting, and patch management;
Three or more years' experience managing technology technical staff;
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources;
Experience with data management and analytics, business intelligence, application development methodologies and technology architecture disciplines;
Effective written, communication, presentation and computer skills;
