Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) seeks a Director, Title IX & Bias to provide vision and oversight around Title IX and bias related issues, emphasizing compliance and education. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration, this newly created position will lead institutional efforts to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements as they relate to Title IX and other forms of bias and discrimination. The Director will oversee and conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial reviews and investigations of reported incidents. By proactively engaging and collaborating with faculty, staff and student populations, the Director will foster and ensure an inclusive, equitable, safe and welcoming environment both in an out of the classroom. It will be important for the Director to provide leadership, education, guidance and additional resources, working with faculty, students, and staff on responsibilities related to sexual violence, harassment, and discrimination. In addition, the Director will ensure policies and process are accessible and relatable.

The successful incumbent will possess sound judgement in managing sensitive information. The Director must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
