Position Summary:

The University Registrar must provide strong leadership consistent with the academic goals and mission of the institution. Primary responsibilities include managing and directing all phases of registrar activities and programs. This position is responsible for maintaining and preserving the integrity for all permanent academic student records.

The University Registrar oversees the state-of-the-art design, development, and maintenance of computerized student records systems that meet needs in the following areas: course schedule preparation, registration, classroom and general scheduling, grade reporting, transcript certification, degree and graduation certification, commencement, support for academic advising, enrollment verification and enrollment reporting. The University Registrar oversees the development and maintenance of databases that will support effective enrollment management practices within a changing environment.

Duties include: Managing the departmental budget; overseeing eligibility certification for student athletes as required by the athletic conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations, and University policy; overseeing eligibility for Idaho residency for continuing students; serving on the institution's Strategic Enrollment Management team; monitoring the interpretation and enforcement of academic rules and regulations that have been formulated by the Faculty Senate, senior administration, and the State Board of Education; overseeing maintenance and publication of the General Catalog and other academic publications; chairing the Administrative Commencement Committee and providing broad oversight for commencement ceremonies on the main campus and at residential centers around the state; and chairing and serving on various other University committees and work groups.

Through participation in numerous committees, the University Registrar is expected to provide strong leadership in areas related to academic policy, application of technology, student services, and communication both on and off campus, including with administrators at other institutions in the State of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of current technology and how it can be applied effectively in the Office of the Registrar
Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skill while working under pressure
Must have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
Must be creative and forward thinking in meeting the challenges of today while planning effectively for the future, particularly in regard to technology and enrollment management goals
Must possess outstanding leadership ability
Must possess the ability to practice sound financial and personnel management
Extensive administrative experience in an academic setting, preferably at a four-year institution
At least five years experience in a Registrars Office is required
Masters degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Banner Software
Knowledge of Enrollment Management principles and practices
