Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains highly professional and proactive relationships with alumni, prospects and donors
  • Writes grants and numerous funding proposals
  • Maintains ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all assigned grants are completed in a superior and timely manner, including proactively managing colleagues responsible for necessary components of grants as necessary, and reporting all progress to the VP
  • Identifies potential corporate/foundational funders through research and tools such as Foundation Search
  • Writes and sends effective and appropriate letters to identified potential prospects as part of introduction packets
  • Proactively conveys all aspects of the President’s vision, and Advancement’s mission and goals, in precise detail to alumni, prospects, donors
  • Assists in arranging (in concert with the Chief of Staff) detailed and appropriate visit itineraries for VIP alumni, prospects, and donors
  • Oversees and directs invitation of identified corporate/foundation/individual prospects to attend VIP football events, ensures complete VIP attendance for each home game, and interacts positively and effectively about mission and message at events
  • Serves as campus liaison with the Presidential Eminent Associates program (an alumni-managed organization), including ensuring proper stewardship and logistics and event planning of their annual on-campus banquet
  • Understands basic functions in researching requested alumni or prospects in Colleague Advancement database
  • Maintains prompt communication with colleagues and supervisors at all times
  • Recognizes key management challenges as they occur and is adept at personally and proactively addressing them with input from VP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum, Graduate degree preferred
  • Outstanding grant writing skills and ability to manage overall grant writing processes to conclusion
  • Superior public relations/public speaking skills
  • Excellent personal engagement/communication skills
  • Superior writing skills including grammar, spelling, editing, proofreading, and ability to research and create reports
  • Superior and professional email and phone manner
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point
  • Ability to maintain absolute and complete confidentiality in all necessary matters internally and externally
  • Proactive problem-solver who will dig to find necessary answers and solutions independently
  • Expertise in Colleague Advancement use and the creation of Colleague Advancement reports are a plus
