Throughout its history, the college has helped advance the agricultural industry and strengthen communities across Alabama and around the world. Today, the college offers 13 undergraduate majors and 23 graduate programs to prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders. Its faculty also hold appointments within the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, where they conduct innovative research and work hand-in-hand with producers and communities throughout the state. This position reports jointly to the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy and the Dean of the College of Agriculture.

The nature of this role is highly externally focused, requiring frequent travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours, and is therefore expected to operate with high-levels of autonomy.
