Pay Range: $38,168 per year or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:

This position provides academic services for all student-athletes through the Student-Athlete Support Services office in Academic Support Programs. The position reports to the Director of Student-Athlete Support Services. Duties include: academic counseling and academic progress monitoring, assisting Director of Student-Athlete Support Services in monitoring continuing eligibility, enrollment assistance and monitoring, orientation for new student-athletes, meeting with prospective student-athletes on recruiting visits, study table assistance, mentoring at-risk student-athletes, and supervising tutors. The incumbent maintains close liaison with UI athletic administrators, coaching staffs, faculty, and campus academic support areas and serves as a member of the administrative staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree AND 2 years of experience working in a higher education setting.
Experience in providing academic support to student-athletes.
Experience with coordinating programs and activities.
Experience interacting successfully with student-athletes, faculty, and coaching staffs.
Experience leading others in program related activities and to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Counseling, Education, Athletic Administration, or other related area.
Experience in an academic support unit for student-athletes, preferable at the NCAA Division I level.
Demonstrated working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Strong public relations, organizational, and program management skills.
Knowledge/experience in computerized student records; familiarity with spreadsheets.
Strong administrative skills in initiating and implementing programs; skills in personnel management.
Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.
Demonstrated integrity.
N4A membership.
