Position Summary

The VISIBLE (Villanova Initiative to Support Inclusiveness and Build Leaders) Program at Villanova University is funded through a National Science Foundation ADVANCE Institutional Transformation grant. VISIBLE is a multifaceted project designed to increase and advance women faculty in STEM disciplines at Villanova. The VISIBLE Program Director will be responsible for overall project management and coordination, in close collaboration with the Villanova ADVANCE PI team. VISIBLE programs will focus on three areas: Change Management; Hiring, Promotion, and Assessment; and Improving the Culture of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity at Villanova. The Program Director manages the daily operations of the VISIBLE Office; manages and coordinates implementation of various programs, trainings, and events; supports general and program-specific stakeholder engagement and communications; assists with program evaluation activities and development of external reports, publications, and presentations. This position is a grant-funded opportunity that is contingent on year-to-year funding for a 5 year project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specifically, the Project Director will be responsible for:
  • overall VISIBLE program management
  • coordination and logistics of all VISIBLE initiatives
  • day-to-day oversight of VISIBLE Office
  • supervising VISIBLE Administrative Assistant and Program Associates
  • scheduling and organizing internal and external advisory board meetings and NSF site visits
  • assisting internal and external evaluators with evaluation activities (e.g. coordination of collection of program assessment data)
  • coordinating program communications to both internal and external stakeholders, assisted by PT communications position)
  • assist PI team with development of technical report drafts, publications, and conference presentation
  • Performing additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters Degree required
  • 5 or more years experience of program development or management
  • Project management experience in higher education or a highly complex, multi-faceted organization
  • Evidence of the understanding of issues specific to women in STEM, gender equity, and/or intersectionality
  • Evidence of ability to effectively implement programming and/or trainings
  • Evidence of strong communication skills and ability to engage program stakeholders
  • Evidence of effective team leadership
  • Evidence of coalition building skills
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in all professional matters
