Marketing Director, Auxiliary Services

Pay Range: $51,657 - $64,571 annually or greater DOE

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

The Marketing Director reports to the Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services and serves as a member of the Auxiliary Services Administration Team. The Director has responsibility for researching, planning, and implementing the marketing strategy and efforts for all departments in Auxiliary Services.

The Marketing Director is in charge of key internal and external communication tools. As the primary communications representative for Auxiliary Services, the Director is the chief content strategist for all Auxiliary Services departments. The Director advances the reputation of Auxiliary Services and the University's reputation through purposeful and creative messaging that is tied to the University's brand and strategic initiatives. The Director provides marketing leadership for all Auxiliary Services departments.

The Marketing Director provides counsel and guidance to the Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services on marketing approaches; writes and edits marketing materials in electronic and print format to include social media, websites, brochures, advertisements, promotional articles and news releases.

The Marketing Director interfaces with University Communications and Marketing team to coordinate content and relay information from and to Auxiliary Services.

Minimum Qualifications:


*Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field PLUS 2 years of related experience.

*Experience marketing, planning, developing, and implementing communications; developing and making presentations to internal and external audiences; developing, writing, and producing informational material for distribution and presentation

*Must have strong written and oral communication skills

*Good knowledge of organization, structure, and ethics of marketing media

*Good knowledge of social media marketing, website communication, graphic design, photography and videography

*Ability to: demonstrate dependability and very strong work ethic; work well and interact with fellow employees; work independently and demonstrate leadership

Preferred Qualifications:


*Education: Masters degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

*Experience: experience working with students; understanding and performing statistical analyses; understanding of project management; working in team settings; effective communications (written and verbal); qualitative and quantitative research; demonstrated creativity in previous work experience; understanding of University of Idaho and residential campus

*Considerable knowledge of: marketing research and marketing concepts

*Essential computer skills: Excel, Word, SAS, SPSS, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Website CMS (preferably Sitecore editing)

*Experience supervising staff
*Considerable knowledge of: Housing/Residence Life, Auxiliaries, Student Affairs, and/or Human Service organizations

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

*Willingness to work extended, evening and/or weekend hours.

*Ability to lift and/or otherwise move and transport materials and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds periodically for marketing purposes.
