The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks nominations and applications for the position of Manager of CEAT Facilities Services.
This position of Manager is responsible for providing leadership for the day to day operations of all facilities in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology. Receive, evaluate and recommend plans to the executive leadership the priority for all major and minor construction and renovation projects. Plan, design or engineer, and review specifications for all CEAT related renovations and construction projects. Coordinate in-house work with applicable University departments. Provide project management, supervision and coordination of the work performed by CEAT staff and students, the University Facilities Management (FM) staff, and/or work of contractors with a focus on budget and schedule control. Effectively and cooperatively interface with the appropriate FM or Long Range Facilities Management (LRFP) staffs to coordinate and complete design and construction projects for the college. Be the College’s voice for value solutions as it pertains to immediate construction as well as long-term operation costs and usability. Participate in University-led selection boards for architect and construction manager at risk firms for all CEAT projects and, as requested, other University projects.
Develop and coordinate plans for future execution in line with the college’s strategic plans and objectives. Provide plans for optimum utilization of space and resources for new buildings and proposed reallocation or reassignment of current space usage. Assign and reassign laboratory space based on the life cycle of the support of sponsored research. Maintain the CEAT facilities database and electronic files with space assignments. Coordinate with FM to maintain complete paper and electronic files of drawings and specifications for all CEAT buildings. Develop, review and implement CEAT-wide procedures and processes related to facilities assignments and usage. Coordinates and provides oversight to support the CEAT IT team for facilities and central server hardware needs for college.
Coordinate with CEAT Associate Dean of Research, the Research Council, and the Executive Council to implement the University EHS laboratory safety programs that impact all faculty, staff and students. Supervise in-house and coordinate University efforts to ensure that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and safety standards. Develop, review and implement CEAT-wide procedures and processes related to laboratory safety. Maintain the safety library on the CEAT Portal.
Oversee the annual facilities and equipment inventory process and submission of reports to the University Budget and Asset Management department. Develop and maintain keying plans for new, renovated, and existing CEAT facilities and spaces. Maintain the CEAT facilities database and electronic files with keys issued for multi-departmental, student groups, and/or staff use areas, research laboratories, and research offices. Develop, review and implement CEAT-wide procedures and processes related to facilities support and usage. Assess and prioritize maintenance requirements and coordinate with FM for funding and scheduling.
Minimum qualifications for the position include: Bachelor’s degree in related field and seven years of facilities management experience to include facility space forecasting, planning, expansion, RTP process, project management and supervisory experience.
