The Director of Sponsored Program Administration is responsible for all financial and administrative functions supporting externally-sponsored projects at the University, with specific emphasis on developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The incumbent collaborates with university leadership, administrators, and faculty to support research and grant activities; assists with proposal preparation and oversees proposal submission; administers the University’s Intellectual Property Policy; negotiates contracts and non-disclosure agreements; develops and implements policies to ensure financial compliance; supervises accounting staff that monitor the financial aspects of grants and contracts; oversees billing and collections related to sponsored activity; creates efficiencies and best practices; and supports the University’s A-133 Single Audits and agency audits. Other duties and projects as required.
Master’s degree in public administration, business, finance, law, or other related field. Bachelor’s degree and seven or more years’ experience may be substituted for Master’s degree. Certified Research Administrator preferred.
Five years’ experience in university sponsored program administration, other grants administration, or public administration and five years’ supervisory experience. Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
